WE RAFFLE A BIKE FOR THE EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK

We are on fire and want to share our joy with [email protected]!

To celebrate the European Mobility Week we have prepared a very cool raffle on our social networks(Instagram and Facebook)in which you can win one of our Ossby Curve Eco folding bikes, but it is not just any Curve Eco, it is a special edition in GREEN color. Yes, green as nature and our hearts that pump sustainability and freedom.

BUT WHAT IS EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK?

It is an initiative that emerged in Europe at the end of the nineties and from the year 2000 it had the support of the European Commission. It is held every year, from 16 to 22 September, and each country carries out activities to promote sustainable mobility and encourage the development of good practices to make our cities a little healthy. In addition, protected by this week, on September 22 the “day without cars” is celebrated to raise awareness of the great traffic problems generated by cars in cities.

SUSTAINABLE, HEALTHY AND SAFE MOBILITY.

The theme selected for this year by European actors is “Sustainable, healthy and safe mobility”,paying tribute to all the problems experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. As is known, the pandemic has changed the behaviors of many of us and this edition reflects on the opportunities for change that arise after a global crisis.

A MOTTO FOR HEALTH.

One thing that we love and think is very accurate is the slogan of the campaign: “For your health, move sustainably.” And with health they don’t just mean physical, they place special emphasis on mental health. Normal after the years of uncertainty we have lived. Because mental health is health and this edition highlights an aspect that is often neglected: transport can greatly influence the state of mental health and well-being of people.
As the dossier presented by the organization says: “Anxiety due to the crowding of people or the scarcity of information about the trip can cause a deterioration of the mental state. The possibility of getting around has always been very important to lead a healthy and satisfying life. In the after-pandemic, municipalities must put all their efforts into creating urban areas that allow for the sustainable and safe movement of residents whenever they wish.”
We believe that the bicycle allows you to disconnect, relate to the environment and gives freedom, very important points for adequate mental health.

MOVE THAT IT IS HEALTHY EVERYWHERE!

Did you know that a 30-minute walk or bike ride a day can help improve your mental health? Well, that’s the way it is. Several studies reveal that active mobility reduces depression, anxiety, and other mental health problems. Exercising, whether walking or cycling, increases blood flow, releases endorphins, and reduces overall stress levels. With all this, physically active people reduce the risk of depression by up to 30%.

People who commute by bicycle have a 52% lower risk of dying from heart disease and a 40% lower risk of dying from cancer.

And if it helps us with coconut, imagine the physical benefits it has. Well, do not imagine that we give you some data:
A British study found that people who commute by bicycle have a 52% lower risk of dying from heart disease and a 40% lower risk of dying from cancer. Another result of the study is that people tested reduce the risk of developing heart disease by 46% and the risk of developing cancer by 45%.

A LITTLE PEACE, PLEASE.

Both air and noise pollution are another important issue to address.

According to the WHO «excessive noise seriously harms health and interferes with people’s daily activities at school, work, home and leisure time. It can disturb sleep, cause cardiovascular and psychophysiological effects, reduce performance, and elicit discomfort responses and changes in social behavior.”

And what doesn’t make noise? The bicycle. At most you can give a melodious timbrazo and little else. If it is that going by bicycle are all advantages.

Innovation and technology made in Spain :

This year, we were very few Spanish companies presenting at the event. We are sure that Spain is a bright country with a lot of potential and talented entrepreneurs, and we want to show it with our participation. We will showcase our versions of folding bicycles made in Spain, Curve Eco and Curve Electric. The Curve models have very innovative features: ultra-fast “Easy Up” folding in one movement, own patent folding handlebar, 100% aluminium frame, 3-speed and disc brakes. In addition, very low weights have been achieved in both models: 9.5 kg in the Eco version and 13.5 kg in the electric version.

Two premium versions that facilitate mobility and commutation in cities thanks to their compact sizes that allow combination with public transport. It is worth highlighting that the innovative “All In One” technology of the version with pedalling assistance with a range of up to 70 km. This system integrates the engine, the battery and the sensors in the hub of the rear wheel of the bicycle. Because of this, the brand retains one of the most important and representative aspects of Ossby, its minimalist and unique design
